Are You Feeling EXHAUSTED?!

It’s understandable that people would feel exhausted this time of year. The holiday season takes its toll, and now we must gather the energy to step into a new year.

I know a few things about exhaustion. Despite taking lots of naps along the way, I’ve been continuously exhausted ever since 2019, the year I went through cancer and chemo.

Yet instead of looking for pity for my chronic weariness, I want to encourage you with a wonderful Bible verse that provides hope amid our exhaustion. The story unfolds when Gideon and his tiny army were pursuing Midianite invaders:

“Gideon and the three hundred men came to the Jordan and crossed it. They were exhausted but still in pursuit” (Judges 8:4).

This verse describes me so well! Yes, I’m exhausted, but I’m “still in pursuit” of God’s purpose for my life. Despite my weariness, I’m still using all the energy I can muster to impact lives for Christ and disciple a new generation of believers.

If you’re feeling weary today, you certainly have my sympathy. However, I hope you will shake off your exhaustion long enough to continue the pursuit of your spiritual legacy.

One of my favorite verses describes this well:

“Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9).

Don’t lose heart, my friend. Even in your weariness, continue sowing seeds of God’s goodness and mercy, knowing your harvest will surely come!
